The club was formed after a very shitty start to a week end away, we were all” Satan Saints” at the time, we decided as a crew to go to the eastern Transvaal for a couple of days, the ride was awesome and weather was good, we arrived just after 6 pm, tired and wanting a cold one,. we were given a frosty and chilled for a while , as the night set in we decided to get our sleeping arrangements sorted out, as we were promised decent sleeping place, we went on the hunt for it. So there was a group of us that didn’t bring a tent and so on, we were supposed to be in chalets but as life and “Murphy” would have it, nothing at all was arranged for the troops on the ground,
We all started bitching at the shitty way things were been handled, we were then told no revving of bikes-and to keep the noise levels down, Now I ask you with tears in my very blood shot eyes, after a hell of a ride you want a beer a chow and to start partying, and not allowed to do this No, No, NO, we were supposed to be the only ones on the site ,so we had a shit fit, and were told lights out at 11pm as I recall, we said that’s not on, we came here for fun, partying and drinking ,we. not a bunch of kids, we approached the press and were told to go to bed, the relevant people / person arranges a huge “dorm / bungalow” and that’s where we must all sleep, will talk in the morning, now our Vice is a man that’s always been with the troops and on the ground so we proceeded to complain to him, anyways we agreed tomorrow is another day lets sleep.
At first light we started our bitching and complaining again, by now we had all the old boys and the new ones shouting at each other, we as a group were told to leave if we didn’t like what was going on.
To hell with this, we decided and including our vice we left, this was the very first break away from the Satan Saints and was a big dent, in total we were 22 riding members that walked away, the atmosphere was really up to shit, but we were there to have fun, and we proceeded to do so.
Now a very dear friend of our vice Grant McNicol, and a man amongst men (SPANNA) President of The Chosen Few and crew happened to be camping not to far away from us, grant (VICE) had his number so he called him and explained the situation to him, this Brother then said what fuck this, wait I am sending somebody to rendezvous with you, we will make a plan.
The Chosen Few mc met us and we followed, now me being a club member only for a year and a half didn’t know about protocol or the does and don’ts, but I stood with the brothers that had left. The Chosen Few members gave up there tents, sleeping bags, and food, as we had paid in advance for a weekend of food drink, accommodation we had nothing with us, ,Spanner as I remember said to Grant,” fuck the weather as long as we are together”, that is something that has stayed in my mind forever , we spoke, drank, ate and had a party with the brothers that had taken us in, I learnt that weekend what brotherhood was all about.
Not one of the chosen few members complained about a thing that was going on, they were just to keen to help and assist us.
After a fantastic weekend with the Chosen Few we headed home.
Back at home we had plenty of meetings of what we were going to do, and how we going to do it. After a lot of deliberation we settled for our “Patch and name” no matter what we were going for it. And were going to make it work
The Vigilantes Mc was born. To date we have been going strong for 15 years.
